style it: the lbd // w. Mary

5 tips to make the LBD work for you:
1
Find the LBD that is best for your body. Think in terms of proportion - look for a dress that counterbalances your natural volume. Still not sure? Try a wrap dress , which is an almost universally flattering cut.
Black not your most flattering color?
2
Choose a LBD with a wide neckline and accessorize with a statement necklace in
your best color or metal.
3
Wear your LBD when the temps dip by layering over with a thick top and belting, or under with a close fitting cowl or turtleneck (this type of layering works especially well with low or wide neckline).
4
Think of the LBD as a wonderful canvas for those "work of art" type shoes that you love but can't seem to coordinate to any other outfit.
5
Last minute party invite? Don't stress! Think monochromatic chic. Throw on your LBD, slip into your black heels, grab a black clutch, swipe some black mascara on those lashes and finish the look with true red lips.
